Turn a business card into a reviewed contact
Review extracted contact fields and download a vCard ready for an address book.
Start with the recommended settings
Open Business Card To Vcard with language, cleanup, and layout choices already selected.
You choose the file after the tool opens.- Best for
- A single business card that will be imported into contacts or a CRM
- Source
- A flat image showing the complete front of one card
- Main result
- Reviewed vCard and structured contact fields
When this workflow fits
This workflow reads the card, proposes contact fields, and pauses for review before creating a vCard. That review matters because OCR can read the characters correctly but assign them to the wrong field. Names, job titles, phone extensions, email addresses, and URLs should remain visible beside the source until the contact is checked.
Prepare the source
Recognition can only use detail that is present in the uploaded file. Check the source before spending time correcting avoidable OCR errors.
- 1
Photograph the card straight-on in diffuse light and include all four edges.
- 2
Use enough resolution to distinguish punctuation in email addresses and thin digits in phone numbers.
- 3
Process the front and back separately when the reverse contains additional contact details.
Run the workflow
Follow the sequence so recognition, structure, review, and export remain separate decisions.
- 01
Upload one complete card
Avoid a collage of several cards because fields can be mixed across contacts.
- 02
Detect contact fields
The workflow proposes a name, organization, title, phone numbers, email, address, and website where present.
- 03
Review every destination field
Correct field assignment and punctuation while comparing the card image.
- 04
Download the vCard
Import the reviewed file into an address book or use the field data in another system.
Review before you download
OCR output is a draft until consequential content has been compared with the source.
- Confirm the person's name is separate from the organization and job title.
- Check country codes, extensions, repeated digits, and labels for mobile, office, and fax numbers.
- Verify every character before and after the at sign in email addresses.
- Check dots, slashes, hyphens, and letter case in websites and social handles.
- Remove decorative text that was incorrectly assigned to a contact field.
Choose the output for the next task
Do not use a structured or editable export as proof that OCR interpreted the source correctly.
vCard
Creates a portable contact file for common address books after field review.
Fields JSON
Supplies named contact values to a CRM or another controlled import process.
Plain text
Keeps a simple transcription when no contact import is required.
If the result needs another pass
Retry the smallest useful source or page after correcting the likely cause.
The name and company are reversed
Correct the field mapping in the review interface before downloading the vCard.
Email punctuation is wrong
Inspect the source at full scale and verify dots, underscores, hyphens, and domain spelling.
Text on the back is missing
Process the reverse as a second source and merge only after reviewing both sides.
